Announcing the Fastfony Starter-Kit: Release Candidate 1 is Out!
After more than 200 hours of intense development, I am incredibly proud to announce the first Release Candidate of Fastfony — a complete, ready-to-use starter-kit and boilerplate for Symfony projects.
Why Fastfony?
I realized there was no true "starter-kit" in the ecosystem: nothing that offered not just a boilerplate, but a fully functional, modern stack to kickstart projects for professional and commercial use. The time spent on setting up the same common features over and over again was simply too much. So, I decided to build something that would save that time — not just for me, but for the entire Symfony community.
What is Fastfony?
Fastfony is both a boilerplate and a starter-kit for Symfony:
- Boilerplate: It provides a robust, opinionated base for your next Symfony project, with a well-architected stack and best practices baked in.
- Starter-kit: It delivers essential features you find in almost every Symfony project — implemented in the simplest, most customizable way, so you can adapt them to your needs.
The goal? To let you focus on what makes your project unique, instead of reinventing the wheel every time.
Built for Professionals — and for Myself
Fastfony is designed for professional and commercial use. I believe in its value so much that I am already using it in my own projects — I am the first user and maintainer. To support ongoing development, Fastfony will be offered via a subscription-based license, ensuring sustainability and continued improvement.
The Road Ahead
I fully expect a mix of feedback — positive and negative — and I welcome it all. Your thoughts, suggestions, and critiques will help me make Fastfony even better. Regardless of how widely it gets adopted, I am committed to maintaining a solid release plan that mirrors the Symfony framework's own lifecycle. Fastfony will remain up-to-date and reliable, because I depend on it myself.
